Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 July 2026
The Eagle Network Marketplace (the "Marketplace") is operated by Eagle Venture Fund ("Eagle", "we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what personal data we collect through the Marketplace, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. It complements the Eagle Venture Fund privacy policy at eagleventurefund.com/privacy-policy; where the two differ in respect of the Marketplace, this policy governs.
The Marketplace is a private, invitation-only network for Eagle portfolio companies, their founders, limited partners and friends of Eagle. Some information is deliberately shared with other members as the core purpose of the network — please read "Who can see your information" carefully.
Who we are
Eagle Venture Fund operates the Marketplace and is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at info@eagleventurefund.com. Our group maintains offices at 550 Bailey Ave, Suite 160, Fort Worth, TX 76107 (USA); Staubstraße 1, 8038 Zürich (Switzerland); and 2 Kallang Avenue, #04-09 CT Hub, Singapore 339407.
Information we collect
Account information. When an account is created for you we store your name, email address (which may be a placeholder username), an encrypted password, your role in the network, and your title.
Company and founder profiles. For portfolio companies we store the company profile (name, description, sector, website, location, founded year, logo and cover image) and its founders' details (name, title, photo, short bio and, where provided, email, phone and LinkedIn). Companies choose which of these are shown publicly and which stay behind the member login.
Member contact details. Members may add direct contact channels — email, phone, LinkedIn, a scheduling link and a short note. These are stored separately from public profile data.
Content you post. Listings (offerings and requests), member-benefit details, and expressions of interest ("raising a hand") that you create in the network.
Membership applications. When you apply to join we collect your name, email, organisation (optional) and the message you submit. To prevent abuse we also store a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address, never the address itself.
Technical data. We use a single sign-in cookie to keep you logged in. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party marketing analytics on the Marketplace.
How we use your information
- To operate the network and your account, and to display profiles, listings and member benefits to the appropriate audience.
- To evaluate membership applications.
- To let members connect with one another directly — the core purpose of the network.
- To keep the platform secure, prevent abuse and rate-limit sign-ups.
- To keep an internal administrative record of credential actions (for example, that a password was reset); this never records passwords.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
Who can see your information
The Marketplace has a deliberate two-tier visibility model.
The public sees only what a company chooses to publish: always its name, logo, cover image and tagline, and — at the company's choice — its description, website, location, founded year, sector and individual founder cards. A founder's contact details are shown publicly only if the company opts that founder's contact in.
Signed-in members — portfolio members, limited partners and friends of Eagle — can see other members' and companies' profiles, including members' contact details and members-only content. This mutual visibility is the purpose of the network: by joining you understand and agree that your profile and any contact details you add are visible to other members. Limited partners and friends of Eagle have read-only access and cannot edit content.
We do not sell your personal data or share it for third-party advertising.
Legal bases (EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland)
Where the GDPR or the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection applies, we process personal data on these bases: performance of our agreement with you (operating your account and the network); your consent (for example, choosing to publish your or a founder's contact details publicly — which you can withdraw at any time by making them members-only or removing them); and our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving a private professional network, balanced against your rights.
Service providers and international transfers
We host the Marketplace with a small number of processors acting on our instructions: Supabase (database, authentication and file storage; data hosted in the European Union) and Vercel (application hosting and content delivery). Because Eagle operates in the United States, Switzerland and Singapore, your information may be accessed from those countries; where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep account and profile data for as long as your account is active. Membership applications and the associated abuse-prevention hash are kept for up to 24 months after a decision and then deleted, unless you ask us to remove them sooner or a longer period is required by law. Administrative records are kept for up to 24 months. When an account is closed we delete or anonymise its personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet a legal obligation.
Your choices and rights
You can review and update your own name, title and contact details at any time from your account, and companies can edit their founders' details from the company profile. Subject to applicable law, you also have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. To exercise any of these, email info@eagleventurefund.com and we will respond within the time required by law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (in Switzerland, the FDPIC).
Security
Contact details are held in a separate, access-controlled store and are never included in public pages. Access is enforced at the database level, passwords are stored only in hashed form, and data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
Children
The Marketplace is intended for business professionals and is not directed to children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
